The Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union recommends the adoption of bills ratifying international agreements

The Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union recommends the adoption of bills ratifying international agreements.

The Committee called the bills non-contradictory to EU law:

-         Draft Law No. 3829  on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Openness of Use of Public Funds” on conditions and procedure for ensuring access to information on the use of public funds by the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine;

-         Draft Law No. 3569 on the implementation of the legislation of the European Union on the procedure for admission to driving. The document proposes to give people the right to study traffic rules not only in specialized driving schools, but also independently. Ana a practical driving test will be taken by a driving examiner.

-         Draft Law No. 3969  on Amendments to the Water Code of Ukraine to clarify the list of primary water users.

-         Draft Law No. 3831  on Amendments to Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine “On Holidays”, which proposes to eliminate discrimination against women who are self-employed. The document, in particular, proposes to provide mothers-self-employed entrepreneurs with parental leave until they reach the age of three on the basis of a document confirming that the child's mother is registered as a natural person-entrepreneur.

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Stefanishyna Olha briefed the Committee on the outcome of the 22nd EU-Ukraine Summit in Brussels.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on European Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze stressed the importance of adopting the Law on the Judiciary and the Status of Judges, which would be in line with the conclusions of the Venice Commission and the recommendations of international partners. Judicial reform is one of the conditions for Ukraine to receive macro-financial assistance from the EU.
