The law brings into line with the Constitution of Ukraine the norm according to which the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine coordinates and controls the activities of executive bodies in the field of national security and defense.
The law defines the Security Service of Ukraine as a subject of the intelligence community in order to coordinate the activities and prevent interdepartmental conflicts of the special purpose body with law enforcement functions and intelligence agencies.
