Dmytro Razumkov informed about his official visit to the Republic of Lithuania last week and a meeting with the Marshal of the Polish Senate Tomasz Grodzki.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also noted that last week Ukraine crossed the limit of 3,000 coronavirus cases per day and called for stricter adherence to quarantine measures during the work in the Verkhovna Rada and during meetings with voters during the election campaign.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada reminded that on September 15 the Verkhovna Rada will receive the draft budget of Ukraine for 2021. Dmytro Razumkov instructed the main and other committees to prepare it for consideration during Friday's session.
The Speaker of the Parliament expressed hope for fruitful work, “despite the fact that elections will be held soon and will not always be reflected constructively in the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.”
During the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the need to improve the system of planning the legislative activity of the Verkhovna Rada and monitoring its activity. He invited the leaders of political factions, committees and other subjects of the legislative initiative to constructive cooperation in determining the priorities of legislative activity for 2021.
Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk reminded of the key role of the Parliament in the country's foreign policy and called for immediate consideration of the statement on the situation in the Republic of Belarus. She also expressed concern over the current situation in Ukraine with coronavirus and stressed the need to increase the number of tests, as well as more strict compliance with quarantine measures in the Verkhovna Rada.
The participants of the meeting decided on Friday, September 18, during the “Hour of Questions to the Government” to hear Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov. Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet will also answer questions from MPs.
