The Ukrainian parliament presented a photo by French photographer Youry Bilak, created from a photo of the defenders of Ukraine on a historical story about the Cossacks. The author created a painting based on the historical plot of Ilya Repin's painting Zaporozhian Cossacks of Ukraine Writing a Letter in Reply to the Sultan of Turkey and called it Sultin's Letter.

As Youry Bilak said during the presentation, the picture shows real Ukrainians, soldiers of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whom he photographed after the combat duty near Debaltseve in the summer of 2015.

The photo painting “Sultin's Letter” is one of the 24 paintings of the exhibition called “Projection”, which was the result of the author's stay in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone during 2015.

The exposition is designed to draw the attention of Ukrainian society and the world community to the ongoing war in Donbas and to draw historical parallels between the defenders of Ukraine of different eras.
