The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were announced to attend the meeting.
"Ask the Government" hour started.
During the
questions hour the defence minister A.Taran reported on the present state of Ukraine’s security sector and the
autumn drawing to the colour. The defence minister then fielded questions
from the floor among which there were drafting students of higher education establishments; housing facilities for military personnel; ammunition contracts; coronavirus morbidity rate in the military; prospects for transition to the completely contractual army; investigations of the notorious detonations at ammunition depots and armories; material support to servicemen, etc.
Questions from parliamentary factions and groups were answered by the premier and the ministers: distribution of subventions for socio-economic development; procurement of vaccines and medicines; work-hours restrictions for food service establishments and nightclubs in the nighttime; distribution of funds to make amends to those medical workers who suffered from the coronavirus disease and fires in the Luhansk oblast; ensuring distance learning in regions; eradication of bribery in the residential housing sector; infringements committed in the course of preparations to local elections; Hasidic pilgrims in the city of Uman during the ongoing pandemic; social dialogue between miners and the line ministry, etc.
"Ask the Government" hour ended at that point.
MPs Kira Rudyk, Anton Poliakov spoke of behalf of two parliamentary factions. MP K.Rudyk then announced that the PP ‘Holos’ is going to join the outs and from now on to oppose the ruling party.
Parliamentarians then proceeded to the business of the day.
On VRU statement: Draft resolution No.3736
The document “The Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the illegitimate nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation over the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” was approved and backed by 306 assenting votes on the second reading.
Formation of new districts: Draft resolution No.3650
The resolution "On the formation and liquidation of districts" was approved by 238 ayes on the second reading.
On defence procurement: Draft bill No.2398-d
The bill “On defence procurement” was taken as law on the second reading by 276 votes in favour.
On foreign intelligence service: Draft bill No.2414-d
The bill “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine’ concerning activities of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine” was adopted as law on the second reading by 244 members of parliament.
The Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk read out parliamentary enquiries.
The presiding officer gave the floor to representatives of parliamentary factions and groups to make their announcements, statements, and proposals.
The Chairman of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine D.Razumkov closed the ongoing sitting and the third
session on the whole.
The Parliament
will next sit on September 1, 2020, thereby opening the 4th session
of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation.
