Members of the VRU parliamentary group for inter-parliamentary relations with the Swiss Confederation, headed by its Co-chair MP Volodymyr Voronov, met on June 30 with representatives of the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, headed by the Ambassador Claude Wild. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation Artem Rybachenko was also in attendance.

During the meeting, the Swiss Ambassador notified the group members about the current state of bilateral relations between Switzerland and Ukraine. He concentrated on economic issues, assistance to and investments in Ukraine.

In turn, the Ambassador of Ukraine Artem Rybachenko noted the intensification of a high-level political dialogue between Ukraine and Switzerland and informed those present about preparations for a first-ever state visit of Swiss President Simonetta Sommaruga to Ukraine on July 20-23 this year.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for the significant political support to Ukraine’s reforms, as well as for technical and humanitarian assistance provided by Switzerland to Ukraine.

Particular heed was paid to the bilateral cooperation programme for 2020-2023. The Ukrainian MPs assured that the Parliament is poised and willing to vastly contribute to successful implementation of this programme.
