Verkhovna Rada does bring its rebranding strategy to life

On Thursday, June 18, there was held a kick-off sitting of Rada’s brand strategy task force, which had been established pursuant to a speaker’s decree.

The sitting was chaired by the vice speaker Olena Kondratiuk and attended by a number of MPs, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, representatives and experts of the UN Development Programme in Ukraine, as well as pundits from creative agencies.

Refreshing the brand of the parliament is not just about approving the documentation design, souvenirs and so forth, it's about implementing a whole branding strategy and understanding what intrinsically is the parliament in Ukraine, O.Kondratiuk clarified.

Mykola Shevchuk, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, informed about trailblazing new directions, ways to attain to the parliament being more open. A significant contribution to this work is nowadays the recent opening of the Educational Centre of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, he elaborated.

Natalia Vatamaniuk, a specialist in e-government and parliamentary transparency, the UN Development Programme in Ukraine, focused attention of the audience on studying the branding experience of European parliaments.  In this context, she underlined that there has not been developed any logotype of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine so far.

Taras Pastushenko, Head of the Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, did commend the work of line committees in charge of developing public relations and their identification.

In turn, representatives of the creative agencies present at the event expressed their interest in the brand strategy cooperation with the Parliament of Ukraine. Following the discussion, there was decided that the creative agencies would make ready their branding ideas, proposals and concepts for further consideration at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The branding task group will next sit on July 2, 2020.
