The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened Friday’s plenary session.

Parliamentarians proceeded to the business of the day.

 

  • Bills, legislations and resolutions passed

 

“Ask the Government” hour started.

The Chairman gave the floor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. In his speech, the minister informed the chamber about the sensitive crimes in the country of late.

Concluding his speech, the minister noted that the information provided by him gives MPs an understanding "that the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police is truly capable of responding to any challenges quickly and effectively".

The minister fielded questions of representatives of parliamentary factions and groups.

Members of the government then answered questions from the floor as well.

The hour ended at this point.

 

On military ranks: Draft bill No.2247

The bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding military ranks of servicemen”. By 280 votes, the parliament has re-ruled that the law becomes now effective on October 1, 2020.

 

On a new VRU ad hoc commission: Draft resolution No.2601

The resolution “On the establishment of a Verkhovna Rada temporary special commission on investor rights protection” was confirmed by 319 ayes.

 

On changes to Ukraine’s 2020 budget: Draft bills Nos.3509, 3509-1, 3509-2

The bill No.3509 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the state budget of Ukraine for 2020’” was backed on the first reading by 274 assenting votes.


On MPs’ legitimate demands: Draft bill No.3354

The bill “On amendments to the Administrative Offences Code of Ukraine and the Criminal Code of Ukraine as to harsher accountability for failure to comply with legitimate demands of a Ukrainian MP, the Accounting Chamber, a member of the Accounting Chamber” was taken as law on the second reading by 329 ayes.

 

On changes to bankruptcy code: Draft bill No.2276

The bill “On amendments to the Bankruptcy Code of Ukraine” was taken as law on the second reading by 329 ayes.

 

The Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk read out parliamentary requests.
