In regard to the meetings of certain parliamentarians from the PP “Opposition Platform - For Life” faction with representatives of the State Duma and the President of the Russian Federation
Due to the surge of media enquiries regarding the recent meetings of the “Opposition Platform - For Life” MPs with the above Russian statesmen on March 10, we find it necessary to declare that the meetings in question were solely held at the initiative of the Political Party “Opposition Platform - For Life”.
The leadership and the representatives of the said faction were in no way authorized to negotiate on behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and none of the items of their visit agenda was agreed upon.
Futhermore, the said parliamentarians did not register their business trips in the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat (as required by the procedure).
Hence, the aforementioned representatives of the PP “Opposition Platform - For Life” are unequivocally considered to have exclusively expressed the position of their political power during their private visit to the Russian Federation.
