The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened today’s sitting of the Conciliation Commission (board).
He gave then the floor to his first deputy Ruslan Stefanchuk, who announced three bills of great moment to be considered this week - the last plenary sennight: on Ukraine’s electoral code, temporary investigative commissions, and the Plast movement. He also apprised the conferees of new presidential legislative initiatives.
Afterwards, representatives of parliamentary factions and groups had their say on the issues in question.
This week the Verkhovna Rada will also see parliamentary hearings on how to build an effective system of intellectual property protection and – on Wednesday – about the problems in forming living wage in Ukraine. In addition, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada stressed the importance of the role of parliamentary oversight with regard to the effectiveness of already adopted legislation specifically.
This Friday’s hour of questions to the government will
be given up to hearing of the foreign minister Vadym Prystaiko. The Chairman Dmytro Razumkov closed the board sitting at that point.
