There is / body in focus of our committee scan today:

 

Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy

The committee checked compliance of a number of draft laws with requirements of the anti-corruption legislation.

The following pieces of legislation were considered to be consistent with the above law:

  • Bill No.2249 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On public procurement’ through the separation of natural gas transportation activities”, with some reservations;
  • Bill No.2126 “On amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding taxation practices within natural gas pricing for the needs of the population”. The committee points out the need for a parallel clear system designed to monitor and keep records of natural gas consumption that meets the needs of the population;
  • Bill No.2299 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding refinements of educational activities in the field of higher education”;
  • Bill No.1221 “On local referendum”, with some reservations;
  • Bill No.2255 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the establishment of a national intellectual property agency”;
  • Bill No.2276 “On amendments to the Bankruptcy Code of Ukraine”;
  • Bill No.2258 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding strengthening protection of trademarks and industrial designs and combating patent trolling”, with some reservations;
  • Bill No.2259 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (regarding the patent law reform)”, with some reservations;
  • Bill No.1102 “On declaring the Law of Ukraine No.2704-VIII of 25.04.2019 “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" null and void”, with some reservations;
  • Bill No.1115 “On status and social protection of peaceful (civilian) citizens affected by armed conflicts or hostilities”;
  • Bill No.1186 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On citizens’ appeals’ regarding exercising the constitutional right to appeal by persons declared by a court as legally incapable” (revised);
  • Bill No.1193 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding bringing them in conformity with EU law on transportation of dangerous goods” (revised);
  • Bill No.1193-1 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding bringing them in conformity with EU law on transportation of dangerous goods”;
  • Bill No.1206 “On foundations of the state policy in the field of European integration” (revised).

The committeemen also approved the timetable of committee sittings for November 2019.
