The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened Wednesday’s plenary session.
The morning section
The Chairman gave the floor to representatives of the parliamentary factions and groups to make their announcements, statements, reports and proposals.
After the speeches, the Verkhovna Rada carried the agenda of the current meeting.
The current agenda:
1. Ratification of international treaties with the governments of Malaysia, the Republic of Cyprus, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
2. Draft resolution No.2198 “On establishment of a Verkhovna Rada temporary commission of inquiry to investigate the mass disorders in Odesa on May 2, 2014 that caused grave consequences, and undue performance of their policing duties by law enforcement authorities”.
3. Bill No.2187 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (concerning preservation of cultural values)”.
4. Bill No.1122 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the natural gas market’ regarding regularizing price formation and avoiding rise in natural gas prices and tariffs”.
5. A range of bills on deforestation and preservation of forests.
6. Bill No.0939 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On local elections’ regarding regularizing the approval procedure for decision of a party’s local cells to participate in the local elections”.
7. A range of bills on renaming of certain human settlements.

On ratification of treaty with Malaysia
--Draft bill No.0002
The parliament considered the draft bill No.0002 that had been drafted to ratify the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Malaysia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and the protocol hereto. 333 votes in favour have supported taking the bill on the second reading and in tote.
On ratification of protocol with Cyprus
--Draft bill No.0003
MPs have reviewed the bill on ratification of a protocol amending the Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. The parliament was recommended to take the bill on the first reading and in tote. This decision was confirmed by 316 ayes.
On ratification of protocol with UK
--Draft bill No.0006
MPs have considered one more anti-double taxation bill – the draft law No.0006 on ratification of a protocol between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland that amends the Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital gains, signed at London on February 10, 1993. The bill was backed by 323 votes in favour.
On preservation of cultural values
--Draft bill No.2187
Members of parliament have seen into the bill No.2187 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (concerning preservation of cultural values)”. On the first reading the document was taken by 240 ayes.
On felling of fir-beech forests
--Draft bill No.0873
MPs have thoroughly treated the bill No.0873 on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine (regarding the ban on clean felling of fir and beech forests throughout the mountain slopes of the Carpathian region). 301 ayes have confirmed taking the bill on the second reading and in tote.
On local cells of political parties
--Draft bill No.0939
Ukrainian parliamentarians have examined the second reading of the bill amending the law of Ukraine on local election to the extent of regularizing the approval procedure for decision of a party’s local cells to participate in the local elections. The bill was agreed and taken in tote.
On renaming of some settlements
By taking the below resolutions, MPs have decided to rename some localities as follows:
