Verkhovna Rada steadies interparliamentary ties with Japan

Ukraine is prepared to deepen relations and constructive cooperation with Japan, -- Dmytro Razumkov

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met with a delegation of the House of Representatives of the Japanese parliament, led by the Chairman of the Japan-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Association Eisuke Mori.

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament thanked the Japanese guests for their support of Ukraine in international and economic issues. “I want to thank you for your continued, consistent and effective support in international, economic issues related to reforming our country, issues of territorial integrity and returning the temporarily occupied territories. For the position regarding the annexed Crimea and occupied Donbas".

Dmytro Razumkov noted that the fruitful relations between Ukraine and Japan would develop and improve, taking into account that both of the countries do have much in common.

According to the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the exchange of experience and knowledge in security issues, the use of nuclear energy and the implementation of reforms will be beneficial for both countries. In particular, Japan's experience in the mechanisms of use of natural resources and the exchange of technology on the use of natural resources will be very important.

"Ukraine is ready for cooperation, for deepening of relations and constructive collaboration between Ukraine and Japan," Dmytro Razumkov emphasized.  - We are always open for dialogue and joint projects.  I hope we will be very effective in our cooperation".

In his turn, Eisuke Mori, who heads the friendship group with Ukraine, said that the purpose of his visit is to get acquainted with how the Verkhovna Rada works, the constitutional processes, and also to expand bilateral cooperation with the Ukrainian parliament.  "I am confident of building a strong partnership in the future," he stressed and hoped for further effective cooperation. - Our meeting will give a profound impetus to cooperation between the two countries.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation Bohdan Yaremenko announced the establishment of a friendship group with Japan, which is the largest in the Parliament of Ukraine to date, and noted that “friendship between Ukraine and Japan will only strengthen in the future and the Verkhovna Rada is ready for any kind of cooperation".
