The Committee on Legal Policy recommends that the Verkhovna Rada include in the agenda of the second session the draft bill No.1013 "On amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding the abolition of advocacy monopoly)".

The committee considered the urgent draft bill “On amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding the abolition of advocacy monopoly)”   submitted by the President of Ukraine and then recommended that the Verkhovna Rada include it in the agenda of the second session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation.

Afterwards, the bill should be submitted to the Constitutional Court with regard to its compliance with the requirements of Articles 157 and 158 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The bill is to amend Article 131-2 of the Constitution of Ukraine, and also to take off Subparagraph 11 of Paragraph 16-1 of Section XV "Transitional Provisions" of the Constitution.

The purpose of these changes is to ensure that everyone is entitled to professional legal assistance by cutting off the monopoly.
