The Committee on European Integration upholds the Bill on Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements concerning Responsibility for Disruption of Legal Proceedings and Demonstration of Disrespect for the Court

The Bill (Reg. No. 3073) suggests a new version of Article 185(3) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements. Thus, it establishes administrative responsibility for not only intentional contumacy, but also for the first contumacy without a lawful excuse of a witness, a victim, a plaintiff, a defendant, an expert, an interpreter and also other expert of person whose presence is considered compulsory.

 

The People´s Deputies stated that the subject of legal regulation of the Bill refers to the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Liberties of Year 1950. The Bill complies with the regulations of the said Convention.
