Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety
The committeemen had a look at how the Lviv oblast’s coal producers work as well as at the working conditions they deliver to their workers. To this aim the committee leaders visited on July 19 the state-run enterprise “LvivVuhillia” and one of its coal mines “Mezhyrichenska” nearby the city of Chervonohrad.
There were ample discussions over actual problems and challenges the enterprise and the whole branch had faced, as well as the solutions to overcome the said bottlenecks.
On July 13, the Parliament passed the bill No.8362 amending the 2018 state budget law with the aim of better financing the said branch. The bill is thus to give more money to coal miners in 2018 – for the wage arrears and retrofit installation there will be assigned up to UAH 1.4 billion.
The coal mining was observed to be in acute need of apparently much heavier investing for modernization and further development of the branch.
