Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, speaking with one voice, shall be able to shape their leadership in the European Union in a manner radically different from the way it has been so far, let alone the synergy of influence,” --  Svitlana Zalishchuk

"I do appreciate the initiative to build up the Ukrainian-Georgian-Moldovan Inter-Parliamentary Assembly conceived, inspired and triggered by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy," declared Svitlana Zalishchuk in her exclusive interview to Rada TV Channel, when commenting the initiative to hold the inter-parliamentary conference "Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine:  Strengthening the Inter-Parliamentary Component of Regional and Security Cooperation, When Developing Interaction with the EU and NATO".

This disruptive initiative of Ukraine is capable of becoming a new powerful instrument of coordination between the three states for a faster implementing their association agreements and cooperation with the European Union, as well as a good attempt by Ukraine to make a difference in the Eastern Partnership’s limp dynamics, which has seemed to be used up as of today”.

“Speaking with one voice, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova shall be able to shape their leadership in the European Union in a manner radically different from the way it has been so far, let alone the joint power of influence. All together, we will be able to suitably respond to common challenges, including impacts upon elections, threats of misinformation and cyber security perils Russia has long been generating.

We will be able to jointly defend the need for certain resources or initiatives that can be implemented together with the European Union, beyond the scope of current agreements, in particular, merging Ukraine into the European energy zone or the cyber area. If we decide to undertake, we might be in acute need of playing the lead in the region,” said the politician.

Talking of the troika’s global abilities to oppose Russia’s aggression, for having a lot in common, the politician underscored that the said countries would only be able, united, to effectively counteract the cross-border harassment, both at the political and juridical levels internationally.

“Globally, Ukraine has become a far more active doer, including the realm of diplomacy, in particular. Triggering the birth of the inter-parliamentary assembly pushes the issue of Ukraine’s geopolitics to the fore, as one of the polarest tools for national survival.

Evidently, we are at risk to face failure in defeating Russia through self-reliance solely, since these are malicious assaults against certain Western values, against the Western model of governance, not merely against Ukraine. That is the reason why partnership with the Western leaders is crucial for us,” highlighted Svitlana Zalishchuk.
