Citizens’ appeals to Rada on the rise

First six months of 2017 have brought to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 55,500 proposals, applications, and claims from citizens that have beaten the last year’s figure by 14,400. The Rada’s committees and the Ad Hoc Supervisory Panel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Privatization have both processed over 7,100 letters, whilst the parliamentary fractions (groups) did 2,800 proposals, applications and claims from citizens.

The Parliament’s upper echelon has been contacted by 1,200 persons within the period – five hundred, ninety of which appealed to Andriy Parubiy, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine directly.

In the first half of this year the citizens brought up 72,700 issues in all – twenty five thousand of which were about observance of legality and law enforcement (policing).
