Andrii Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the today’s plenary session.
Yurii Boiko, a leader of the ‘Opposition bloc' fraction, was given the floor at the joint request of the ‘Opposition bloc’ fraction and the ‘People’s will’ deputies’ group. Y.Boiko protested strongly against the Odesa’s events on June 2, resulted then into injury to a MP Natalia Korolevska, having named that a real provocation. The fraction demanded a swift and impartial investigation from the law machinery.
The MPs voiced
their statements and announcements, shifting then to ratification issues.
Through adoption of bill No.0147 the Parliament has ratified the inter-governmental agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Montenegro on education and science cooperation signed in 2011.
Passing the bill No.0148 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has resulted in ratification of the European Agreement on the Transmission of Applications for Legal Aid made on January 27, 1977 in Strasbourg. The treaty will take effect in nearly a month. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is set to be the only body responsible for acceptance and surrender of the applications for legal aid.
Another inter-governmental agreement has been ratified by the Parliament under bill No.0133. It is now between Ukraine and Slovenia on remunerative activities by family members of diplomatic agents, consular officials, and international representatives.
Adopted bill No.0135 has ratified the Third and the Fourth Additional Protocols to the European Convention on Extradition signed in 2010 and 2012 correspondingly. The responsible bodies are empowered to be the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
