At the meeting the majority of the Committee members upheld the Draft Resolutions "On Dismissal of Eduard Prutnik from the Post of Chairman of the State Committee" (Reg. No. 1334) and "On Appointment I.F. Kurus to the Post of Chairman of the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine" (Reg. No. 1335).

Hanna Herman, the Committee Chairman, called on the Committee members "to consider professional, not political suitability whilst voting".

H.Herman emphasized that Chairman of the State Committee is not a member of the Cabinet of Ministers, however, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted the Draft Resolution on his dismissal. She also stated that "Ihor Kurus, probable successor of Eduard Prutnik, put in an application for the said post on 14 January, when the position was not vacant yet".

In his report, Eduard Prutnik briefly appraised achievements of the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting during his Chairmanship and stated that "he will not submit an application for his dismissal, but will comply with any resolution, passed by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine". He also recommended Ihor Kurus to his colleagues, stating that "this person works thoroughly and knows how to extend Ukrainian television and radio sector".

Answering the questions of the profile Committee members, Ihor Kurus determined the following priorities for the Chairman of the State Committee: establishment of public broadcasting, support of the Program "Ukrainian Book" etc.
