The Bill (Reg. No.2008) defines minimum rate of alimony for children´s upkeep at the level no lower than living wage for children of relevant age.
The Committee members stated that the alimony rate envisaged by the Bill may considerably exceed financial means of parents. It is particularly likely to occur in the situation when the rate of wage is close to the minimum wage, since at present; living wage for children exceeds the rate of minimum wage.
The Committee passed a resolution to recommend that the author of the Bill further elaborates it, taking into account the motions of the People´s Deputies and The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Central Scientific Experts Office.
