The Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill "On Rise of Prestigiousness of Miners' Work" as a Basis

27 March 2008, 15:51

The Bill (Reg. No.1097-1) "establishes a system of special actions aimed at rise of prestigiousness of miners´ work, creation of social and labour relations that will render extra safeguards to the miners, such as increased wages and settlement of social and household issues".

The Bill grants extra pension provision benefits to several groups of workers.

The Bill also envisages interest-free (or concessional) loans at the expense of enterprises for construction and purchase of residential houses and apartments.

However, the Bill requires further elaboration, since several regulations are to be coordinated with the capacities of extra budget funding, and with current systems of wages, pension provision and social security.
