In 2007 the National Council was to create initial conditions and implement first actions aimed at establishment of digital television broadcasting in Ukraine, extension of national and regional television and radio networks. The National Council is to also to facilitate development of local broadcasting, use of Ukrainian produce in national broadcasting, and adherence of television and radio broadcasting companies to the effective legislation during the early election to The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Committee members believe that efficient use of frequency resource, granted to Ukraine due to the Geneva Agreement of Year 2006, is an essential principle of introduction of digital broadcasting.
Moreover, the international conference "European Standards of Activity of Electronic Mass Media Regulatory Bodies: Transparency and Independence" was held.
