At their meeting on November 2, the Committee members have considered the bill On Amendments to Housing Code of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic that changes the conditions of election of citizens as members of housing associations.

During the discussion, the Committee members noted that the bill No. 3273 aims to simplify election of citizens as members of housing associations. The bill offers to amend the said Housing Code to rule that a citizen has right to enter a housing association and receive an apartment despite the fact whether he / she is or is not on the list of citizens in need of improved housing.

At the same time, the bill envisions that only the citizens living in respective population center have the right to become a member of respective housing association.

Accounting of citizens willing to join a housing association is rendered by local self-government bodies under the order approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The members of the Ukrainian Parliament supported the bill.
