First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine / Representative of Ukraine in the Humanitarian Subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group for the Settlement of the Situation in Donbas (Ukraine-OSCE-Russia), Iryna Heraschenko, noted that introduction of the e-declaration system indicated Ukraine's striving for reforms aimed at fighting corruption. She noted that current parliamentary session's agenda envisions implementation of the judicial reform and settlement of decentralization issues.
Iryna Heraschenko noted intricate security and humanitarian situation in the east of Ukraine and emphasized mass infringement of human rights in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea.
Iryna Heraschenko stressed the importance of gradual simultaneous implementation of security, humanitarian and political blocks of the Minsk agreements and noted that implementation of the political block, in particular, holding of elections in Donbas, could not be possible prior to implementation of the humanitarian and political blocks.
She called on the Belgian side to facilitate introduction of visa-free regime for Ukraine and ratification of the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement by the European partners.
The parties discussed introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation until full implementation of the Minsk accords.
Iryna Heraschenko thanked Belgium for its support to sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and called important further deepening of bilateral interparliamentary dialogue.
Discussing the latest meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and its decision to hold its 137th meeting in Saint-Petersburg (Russia), Iryna Heraschenko said that the Ukrainian Parliament expresses deep concerns over the decision of the Organization to hold one of its meetings in the territory of the aggressor country.
