Chair Of Foreign Affairs Committee Hanna Hopko meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Ukraine

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties noted the necessity for intensification of interparliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and the Arab Republic of Egypt and drew attention to mutual interest in deepening of cooperation between the two countries at the political, economic and humanitarian levels.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Ukraine Hossam Eldeen Aly also stressed that Egypt is extremely interested in enhancement of interparliamentary relations with Ukraine as it will facilitate implementation of a number of investment projects with the participation of Ukrainian enterprises.


Particular attention was paid to the intensification of consideration of the Agreement on transfer of sentenced persons, contacts on cooperation in higher education, commercial shipping, and air traffic. The parties noted the importance of resumption of cooperation in aviation, in particular, launch of Kyiv-Cairo flights.



Hanna Hopko called for further development of interparliamentary relations and answered the questions about prospects of further work of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs. In particular, she informed that the Committee is working on establishment of a group of parliamentarians on interparliamentary relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt.


At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed holding of a meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Ukraine and members of the group of friendship with Egypt.
