Committee on National Security and Defense recommends Parliament adopt Law "On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine on territorial defense" as a basis

The Committee members considered the bill No. 4921 submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers at the meeting on September 7.

First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Rusnak explained the importance of bill's adoption with the necessity to legislatively regulate the following issues:

territorial defense beyond the areas of combat activities;

authorities of local state administrations in field of defense work;

involvement of subjects in implementation of territorial defense tasks;

involvement of non-government associations in measures aimed at preparation and provision of territorial defense.

The bill offers to regulate the issue of preparation and provision of territorial defense by its subjects.

It is offered to introduce respective amendments to the Laws of Ukraine "On local state administrations" (Articles 2, 18, 27); "On defense of Ukraine" (Articles 10-13, 17, 18); "On military duty and military service" (Article 1); and "On State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection” (Article 11).

The Committee members supported the bill and expressed some remarks to it to be taken into consideration during its further update.
