The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hosted parliamentary hearings entitled "Strategy of reintegration of the Russia-annexed Crimea and the city of Sevastopol with Ukraine: problems, ways, methods and means."
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii took part in the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council and the 92nd Rose-Roth Seminar focused on “Ukraine's Transformation in a Troubled Regional Context”.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada pointed to the necessity for the deep and systemic reforms in the country against the background of serious internal and external threats.
At the meeting, Ukraine's representatives suggested that NATO establish a trust fund to develop the abilities of our state in the field of strategic communications to counteract large-scale information war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the West on the whole.
At the meeting with President of the Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ankie Broekers-Knol, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii expressed hope that even the views of the skeptics would start supporting Ukraine after deeper understanding of the current situation in the country and the fact that the Ukrainians do strive for the free world.
The participants in the meeting discussed the process of Ukraine's reformation, the issues of deepening of the interparliamentary cooperation, and the mechanisms to combine efforts to tackle the issue of the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement.
After the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had adopted the draft law on the quota for Ukrainian songs, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii called the decision "an important victory at the information front." He said the draft law had been elaborated by respective workgroup, by the relevant Committee together with social activists.
To intensify capacity building of the Ukrainian Parliament, to improve the quality of legislation and monitoring of its effective implementation, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine and the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine signed the Letter of Intent on Friday.
Andrii Parubii, who signed the document on behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament, noted that Ukraine is currently implementing reforms in different fields. He thanked the European colleagues and assured of success thanks to close and effective cooperation between the Ukrainian Parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Chairperson / President's Envoy for Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donbas / Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup within the trilateral contact group for Donbas conflict settlement Iryna Heraschenko considers that the elections in Donetsk and Luhansk regions are possible only after the restoration of peace in the region.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and Co-Chair of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council Raynell Andreychuk informed about the elaboration of a joint statement by the Co-chairs of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council as well as about further steps in deepening of the cooperation.
Acting Head of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat Volodymyr Slyshynskyi met with the coordinators of the European Parliament's program on intensification of the capacity building of the Ukrainian Parliament Andrej Plenkovic and Pat Cox.
The parliamentary committees hosted regular meetings and their representatives took part in various visits and gatherings.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko spoke in the character of the moderator of the III session of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Culture and Spirituality considered the draft resolution "On Address of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I regarding provision of autocephaly to Orthodox Church in Ukraine."
The draft resolution urges the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine to immediately sent the text of the Address to Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations Hryhorii Nemyria met with deputy head of the foreign affairs committee of the German Bundestag Franz Thonnes.
The Parties discussed the situation in Ukraine, issues related to the aggression of Russia against Ukraine, observance of human rights and freedoms in Ukraine, in particular, in Crimea and on the occupied territories of Donbas.
Verkhovna Rada Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt the draft law on optimization of opportunities of entrepreneur activity of individual entrepreneurs that chose simplified system of taxation and are in labor relations with employees drafted for military service during mobilization as a basis and in principle.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also hosted some other events.
