Chairperson of the Committee on social policy, employment and pensions Lyudmila Denisova:"Women who preliminary retired are guaranteed a decent standard of pensions"

Committee members at a meeting June 1 heard  the draft law on amendments to paragraph 7.2 of section XV "Final Provisions" of Law of Ukraine "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance" to bring it in conformity with the Constitution of Ukraine, №4504.

In discussing the project it was noted that according to "pension reform" from October 1, 2011 the retirement age for women every six months increased from 55 to 60 years, but women were granted the right to retire immediately after the age of 55. In this case, the amount of their pensions reduced by 0.5% for each full or partial month early retirement. That is why situation was created in which pension sum of some women does not corresponds to a minimum subsistence level for persons unable to work. Thus, if the Verkhovna Rada approves this draft law, the amount of pension payments for these women will make at the level of social standards.

Chairperson of the Committee Liudmyla Denisova particularly focused on fact that the state must guarantee people, who have given many years of fruitful work, a decent level of pension benefits in an amount no less than the Constitution of Ukraine determined.

"This draft law is a professional and appropriate. Our task is to provide a state with legal opportunity to ensure as soon as possible guaranteed level of payments to people who for many years worked in favor of Ukraine and deserved it in full ", - assured the people’s deputy .

The Committee recommends the Parliament to adopt the draft law №4504 in principle.
