Committee members at a meeting on June 1 considered the government draft law on amendments to an article 24 of the Law of Ukraine "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance» №4574, as well as an alternative to it – on amending some laws of Ukraine in terms of length of service of rehabilitated persons and deportees number 4574-1.

During the discussion, that was noted that both draft laws are designed to ensure the right to recalculation of pensions for persons deported on ethnic grounds, who were on special settlements, by taking into account the time of their work in this period of insurance age in privileged triple amount. This will increase the pensions of these persons.

In addition, draft law №4754-1 foresees recalculation of pensions for other victims of political repressions, it is suggested to add the period of their staying in special settlements to the insurance period for a pension in double amount.

Chairperson of the Committee Lyudmila Denisova said during hearing that a draft law №4574-1, submitted by deputy  Yurii Shukhevych covers more categories of these people and privileged calculation of their length of service.

Committee members supported and recommended Parliament to approve in principle the alternative draft law №4574-1 with further combining with government draft law  prior to  the second reading.
