Chairman of the Committee urged the Government not to violate the law of Ukraine on internal migrants.

During today's meeting of the Committee it was scheduled to hear the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the state  of implementation of recommendations of parliamentary hearings on "State of the rights of internally displaced persons and citizens of Ukraine residing in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and the territory not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities in the area of anti-terrorist operation "(under part 2 of the Decree of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine № 1074-VIII of March 31, 2016). Relevant hearing took place in February this year.

But due to lack of members of the Government the, the Committee decided to defer consideration of this issue on 15 June.

"The Committee considers this as a contempt against Parliament and citizens of Ukraine", - said Hryhorii Nemyria.

In addition, the Chairman of the Committee emphasized that the government continues to violate the law of Ukraine on protection of the rights and freedoms of internal migrants, guiding by its decree №509 on these issues.

"The law is in force, but the government does not care about it. Yet till now there no amendments to the resolution №509. Ministry of social policy in its activity continues to be guided by Decree number 509 and gives appropriate instructions to other public authorities, including the Pension Fund. As a result, internal immigrants suffer. It's disgusting and unacceptable,"- he said.

Following the discussion, members of the Committee decided to hold on June 15, 2016 an extended meeting of the Committee and direct to the Prime-Minister of Ukraine letter with information on the situation and called on representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers to participate in this meeting.
