Parliamentarians approved the decision to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt in principle in first reading the draft law "On alterations to the Law of Ukraine "On Citizenship" relating on the admittance to citizenship of Ukraine", # 3321, submitted by people's deputy of Ukraine V.V. Didych
It was recommended to return for revision to the subjects of law making initiative a draft law "On establishing a moratorium on forcible return, ejection and extradition of foreigners and stateless persons who took part in anti-terrorist operations or ensure its implementation", # 3468, submitted by the people's deputy of Ukraine Tymchuk D.B., Vinnik I.Y. and create a working group on the basis of the Committee to study the document with involvement of its authors.
In addition, the Committee also approved the staff of the Monitoring Group on the rights of internally displaced persons living in the area of ??anti-terrorist operations. The decision to establish the relevant group was taken on a recent extended visiting session in Donetsk region to monitor the rights of internally displaced persons and citizens of Ukraine who live in the area of ??anti-terrorist operations, and analysis of the practice of application of the current legislation on IDPs.
"The decision to create a flexible instrument of parliamentary control in this area was welcomed in the Council of Europe", - said the chairman of the Committee Hryhorii Nemyria.
It was decided in the framework of the monitoring group to consider the appeal of public organizations (SA "KrymSOS", CF "Right to defense", Resource center for forced migrating persons, CF "Vostok-SOS", Donetsk regional organization "Committee of Voters of Ukraine" and the Institute of social and economic studies) about the possibility of appliance of administrative mechanism for registration of civil status facts (birth and death) of citizens in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and non-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Committee members also discussed the improvement of legal regulations for the refugee status determination to foreigners and stateless persons who defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine as part of military and volunteer formations provided by the legislation of Ukraine.
