As was stressed during the discussion, the initiative was submitted to the Committee by Art Arsenal Director General Natalia Zabolotna.
Committee Chairperson Artur Palatnyi said that "they are considering the matter, as the Committee is guided by the principles of transparency, openness, and democracy. But such matters and the procedure of their consideration had been long ago regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On naming legal entities and items of property after individuals, anniversaries and holidays, names and dates of historical events."
Following the discussion, the Committee decided to order the Ministry of Infrastructure to consider the possibility of renaming or naming after an individual the State Enterprise International Airport "Boryspil" and carry out public discussion pursuant to the Law.
The Chairperson of the Committee believes that "the renaming of the Boryspil international airport can not be considered by such a small number of people and even more so they can’t make decisions, as the Boryspil is the property of the people of Ukraine." A.Palatnyi noted that he highly appreciates such a prominent artist as Kazimir Malevich, whose name is proposed to give to the enterprise, but there are a lot of famous Ukrainians who deserved well of Ukraine more than him.
