At the meeting on May 18, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ihor Pavlovskyi, and Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine/Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatolii Matios delivered their report.

At the beginning of the discussion, Committee Chairperson Serhii Pashynskyi drew attention to the information on the number and value of military property of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sold before the start of the anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine, and said that the information provided to the MPs for familiarization, is shocking.

For example, an anti-aircraft missile system S-300 of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine was sold to the Ukroboronservis company at a much underestimated price, and to Kazakhstan at a price ten times more expensive.

Following the debate, the Committee decided to appeal to Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman concerning the necessity to establish a commission for holding special official investigation and audit with the calculation of losses caused to the state and the need for allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the budget to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for remuneration of labour of the experts involved in the investigation by the military prosecutor’s office.

The Committee also appealed to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko with a proposal to hold a special meeting on the return of stolen funds and property to the state budget of Ukraine.
