In particular, the Committee members examined the draft law on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine (concerning the share of national Ukrainian-language audiovisual product in broadcasting of TV and radio organizations) No.4408, which was for the first time included in the agenda of the committee meeting, and also earlier examined draft law on amendments to the Law Ukraine "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" concerning the share of songs in Ukrainian language in music radio programs and radio shows (registration No.3822).
As was reported, following the consideration at the meeting on March 30, 2016 the latter of the two draft laws was sent for finalization. And at present exactly this draft law as finalized, was supported by people’s deputies of Ukraine/members of the Committee and recommended for approval by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading as a basis. Taking this into account, the draft law No.4408 was forwarded to its authors for finalization.
The draft law on amendments to the Civil Code of Ukraine (concerning prohibiting the spread on the Internet of information violating private non-property rights) No.4401 also found no support of the Committee. Following its consideration they decided to propose that the relevant Committee on Legal Policy and Justice recommend the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to reject the draft law.
Returning to the proposal first made at the meeting of April 13, 2016 concerning holding an open meeting of the Committee with participation of representatives of the media working in extreme conditions in the East of Ukraine, the Committee listened to information on the preparations for the event. They agreed a number of organizational issues of the stay in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, parliamentarians’ visits to some settlements, certain facilities, collectives located in this territory in close proximity to the anti-terrorist operation zone.
