At a meeting on May 17 it was noted that the German government pays attention to the issue of countering Russian aggression against our country and actively engages in measures to politically resolve the situation in Donbas in the framework of the Normandy Format. In this connection, they pronounced a hope that Germany will continue making every effort to further continue the sanctions imposed by the European community against the Russian Federation.

The parties discussed the current activities and priorities of the working subgroup on the social and economic issues of the Trilateral Contact Group aimed at solving social and economic problems in the context of a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas. They also discussed the progress of implementation of the Minsk agreements and determination of priorities, which should be addressed by the corresponding subgroups.

In this context, they stressed that interested parties should direct their efforts to restore damaged water supply facilities, located near the separation line and have socio-economic and humanitarian importance, restore power lines, gas pipelines and railway infrastructure. To implement these measures they should define sources of financing of restoration works, including with the participation of the German side and international organizations.
