At a meeting of the Coordination Board on Monday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii said this thesis was one of the key remarks of the Cox Mission, and therefore the reform of the activity of the Verkhovna Rada is directed at the elimination of a so-called "legislative spam" - thousands of draft laws are registered, but most of them are not considered because of their unprofessional drafting, and sometimes over the openly populist essence.
The Chairperson of the Parliament noted that first of all he will put to vote in the session hall urgent and important draft laws that were previously coordinated by the committees and with heads of the factions and have a chance to be approved by the required number of votes. He also called on the parliamentarians to efficiently use time of plenary meetings.
"My logic is that the highest legislative body of the country, which is functioning during the war, should able to make decisions. I will not let anyone snow the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under the draft laws, whatever political goals he has. We will work systematically, consistently, and in fact those draft laws that are important and have support of the majority in the session hall will be submitted for voting," Parubii said in the context of the problem of establishing effective work of the Parliament.
