At the meeting, the Russian side amended some items of the Recommendations that substantially restricted the rights of the refugees.
The Ukrainian side expressed its concerns as to the offered amendments. Colleagues from Georgia supported the Ukrainian position. As a result, it was decided to put to vote the draft resolution submitted by the secretariat and to consider all possible amendments at the regular meeting of the General Assembly in Moscow (the Russian Federation) in late June.
Liudmyla Denisova noted that Ukraine was ready to further take part in searching opportunities to solve the problems of refugees protect human rights and their major freedoms, and assist in political and social stability.
