In particular, at their regular meeting, the members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship advocated the adoption of the draft law No. 3868 "On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine" (as to decrease of deficit of scrap ferrous metals in domestic market to meet needs of defense industry and restore infrastructure) in second reading and in principle in the wording of the Committee after respective technical-legal examination.
The Committee decided to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (temporarily — for the period of three years) raise the export tax for scrap metal from EUR 10 to EUR 30 per ton to solve the problem of critical deficit of the raw material at the Ukrainian iron and steel works.

At the meeting of the Conciliatory Council, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Viktor Halasiuk addressed Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii requesting to immediately organize the consideration of this draft law along with the draft law No. 3873 "On decrease of import tax for scrap metal from 5% to 0%," which had also been supported by the relevant Committee, and prepare it for adoption as a basis and in principle.
Besides, the Committee considered the draft law No. 4048 "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On temporary measures during anti-terrorist operation" (as to unhampered activity of local self-government bodies). The Committee recommended that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt it in second reading and in principle after technical-legal examination. The draft law will unblock the functioning of the local self-government bodies in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
