Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Policy and Banking Serhii Rybalka said this at the meeting on April 20.
He said that the expert group was established to collect and systematize proposals touching the update of the draft Strategy on development of the banking system of Ukraine for 2016-2020. According to him, respective proposals have started to come from scientists, experts, bankers, enterprises working in real sector of economy, and non-government organizations.
Besides, a steering committee was established to hold a large-scale conference entitled "The Strategy of development of the banking system of Ukraine" on the Bankers Day on May 19-20. The major goal of the event will be to discuss all the proposals and adopt recommendations for the bodies of state power.
The conference will be conducted in a premise of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman. The expert group and the steering committee are formed of representatives of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, Institute for economics and forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukrainian Financial Analysts Society, Ukrainian Credit-Bank Union, Association of Ukrainian Banks, Academy of Financial Management, Scientific-expert collegiate body of the Public Council under the National Bank of Ukraine, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Viktor Halasiuk and other Ukrainian and international experts.
On April 18, the basic draft Strategy on development of the banking system for 2016-2020 was presented at a roundtable in the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Then scientists and experts expressed their support to the draft strategy.
The strategy aims to consolidate the efforts of scientific-expert, banking and industrial circles, Central Bank, Government, Parliament and the President of Ukraine touching the overcoming of the systemic bank crisis, formation of new economic course.
The basic draft Strategy was elaborated at the initiative of Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Policy and Banking Serhii Rybalka.
