With the aim of control the Committee members at a meeting on February 3 discussed the issue of reorganization of funds of mandatory state social insurance and accomplishment of financial resources management by them.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Police, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Social Policy, the State Treasury Service, trade unions, employers and the public.
Directors of executive directorates of the Fund of Social Insurance for Temporary Disability and the Fund of Social Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases, and heads of commissions for the reorganization of these Funds, failed to appear despite the invitation of the Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chairperson of the Committee Liudmyla Denysova recalled that in late 2014 the Parliament adopted the law envisaging from January 1, 2015 the establishment of a Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine, through reorganization by merging the Fund of Social Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases and the Fund of Social Insurance for Temporary Disability.
Following the discussion the Committee members postponed making a decision on the reorganization of social insurance funds and creation of a new Social Insurance Fund till the next Committee meeting on February 15, at which considered will be the report of the Government concerning social obligations.
