Verkhovna Rada Committee on Construction, City Planning, and Housing-Public Utility Economy holds hearings on deregulation of business in construction sector

The participants in the February 17 hearings were representatives of the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Public Utility Economy Ministry, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the State Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Service, the State Regulatory Service, local self-government bodies, professional associations of construction companies and architects, non-government organizations, construction companies and design institutes, group of the World Bank.

The participants debriefed Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Yu. Klymenko on the measures taken by the Government to improve the business climate in Ukraine.

An advisor of the World Bank group D. Maliuska presented a methodology for the Doing Business rating and proposals as to improvement of the position of the construction sector in this rating.

Representatives of the Construction Chamber of Ukraine, the Confederation of Ukrainian Builders, the Ukrainian Architects Association, as well as representatives of the Kyiv, Odesa and Kharkiv city councils also presented their proposals.

The recommendations of the committee hearings will be adapted and considered at the next regular meeting of the Committee.

The people's deputies also eyed the draft law No. 3610 "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On regulation of city planning activity" (as to abolition of share participation in development of population center infrastructure).
