Verkhovna Rada Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction examines over 1,100 draft legislative acts last session

Of the said volume, 110 draft laws (10%) were declared containing corruptogenic factors and contradicting the anticorruption legislation.

In the period of September 2015 - January 2016, the Committee conducted 25 meetings, including an offsite meeting. It considered 184 issues, of which 126 (70%) touched lawmaking functions of the Committee.

Besides, the Committee considered 14 draft legislative acts it was appointed responsible for.

The Committee also elaborated a number of draft laws later adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the whole and signed by the President of Ukraine, in particular:

- on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine touching political corruption prevention and counteraction.

- on the National Asset Crimes Agency of Ukraine. In particular, the law (No. 772-VIII dated November 10, 2015) establishes an independent agency responsible for searching, return and management of funds and property arrested in the course of criminal proceedings.
