The participants in the meeting that took place January 28 were the Committee members; Robert Conrad, a widely recognized authority on the economics of tax policy, international taxation, comprehensive tax reform, and an advisor to the finance minister of Ukraine for tax reform; Ivan Miklos, an advisor to the finance minister, former vice prime minister and finance minister of Slovakia.
The parties of the meeting also discussed the draft law No. 3357 on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine touching tax liberalization and the draft law No. 3630 on creation of competitive conditions in taxation and stimulation of economic activity in Ukraine and their possible adaptation.
The people's deputies insisted on further adaptation, inter alia with the participation of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, of the draft law No. 3357 taking in account positive terms enshrined in the draft law No. 3630; and on inexpediency of the merger of the draft laws Nos. 3357 and 3630.
The parties also discussed a number of problems in taxation in Ukraine, in particular, they discussed positive and negative aspects of introduction of the distributed profit tax.
In order to achieve the set goals, the meeting participants decided to ensure cooperation between the people's deputies, experts and advisors of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in the process of further elaboration of respective draft law.
