Liudmyla Denisova said that on January 27, members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs unanimously supported the proposal of the Head of the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) to refuse to take part in the 47th General Assembly of the PABSEC scheduled to take place in Moscow (the Russian Federation) on June 28-30, 2016.

"Last, 46th General Assembly, which took place in Bucharest, the Ukrainian delegation held a protest during the speech of State Duma [Russian Parliament] Speaker Naryshkin due to the start of Russia's presiding in the PABSEC. Our delegation demanded return of Crimea to Ukraine and termination of invasion of Russia's troops in Donbas. It was then that we warned that Ukraine would not take part in the events held on the territory of Russia. We will boycott the next meeting of the General Assembly of the PABSEC in Moscow," Liudmyla Denisova said.

The Head of the Permanent Delegation also informed that Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman had prepared a letter to Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin requesting to urge Ukraine's foreign diplomatic offices to hold proper work on elaboration of a joint approach among the BSEC member countries to ignore the 47th General Assembly of the PABSEC.

The members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs supported the necessity to hold such work and also decided to address the committees for foreign affairs of the PABSEC member countries requesting to boycott the participation of their national delegations in the 47th General Assembly of the PABSEC in Moscow.
