The event takes place in Lodz (the Republic of Poland) on January 24-26.

This event is traditionally a platform for discussion of key issues of modernization and development of Ukraine both with the use of own resources and in cooperation with its partners from Poland and the European Union.

Chairperson of the subcommittee on local self-government of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Yurii Bublyk noted that unfortunately the last election in Ukraine did not give the result expected by the Ukrainian society. First of all that can be explained with the failure to hold full lustration after the Revolution of Dignity allowing many proponents of the previous political regime to rise to power again. One of the reasons was also the imperfect Law of Ukraine "On local election," which left many districts without their representatives in the local self-government bodies.

At the same time, Yu. Bublyk noted the necessity to tackle problems of the Ukrainians living on the temporarily occupied territories at the state level and expressed confidence that no chance should be given to free elections at gunpoint of the occupants.
