During the period under review the Committee held 11 meetings, where they examined 38 issues, 26 of which dedicated to discussing draft laws and draft resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Committee constantly works on improving the national legislation in accordance with the plan of work. An important stage of scientific and educational legislation development was the adoption at the initiative of the Committee of two laws of Ukraine and three resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada, namely:
- Law "On scientific and scientific-technical activity” (No. 848-VIII of November 26, 2015);
- Law "On amendments to certain laws of Ukraine concerning the increase of access of the blind, visually impaired persons and persons with dyslexia to works published in a special format” (No. 927-VIII of December 25, 2015.)
- Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On appointing in 2015 personal scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the most talented young scientists” (No. 689-VIII of September 15, 2015);
- Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On awarding the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the most talented young scientists in the sphere of fundamental and applied research, and research and technology for 2014" (No. 690-VIII of September 15, 2015);
- Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On awarding the Annual Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the teaching staff of secondary, vocational, pre-school and post-school educational institutions" (No. 855-VIII of December 8, 2015).
The Committee also examined and submitted expert findings on draft laws in the competence of other parliamentary committees.
During the third session held were committee and parliamentary hearings and two extended meetings of the Committee. The Committee held a field meeting in the town of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.
In the framework of international cooperation, the Committee members and representatives of the Secretariat made six working visits abroad as part of official delegations.
During the third session the Committee processed 1,988 letters and appeals from staffs of educational institutions, research institutions, central and local authorities, citizens, closely considered them and summarized for the corresponding improvement of the Ukrainian legislation.
