In compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament on a Joint Framework for Parliamentary Support and Capacity Building, on January 12-14, 2016, employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine visited Brussels (the Kingdom of Belgium), where they studied modern practices applied at the European Parliament in fields of communications and staff support.
The "communication section of the visit" of the program envisioned examination of the structure of the European Parliament Communications Department, distribution of functions, studying of fields and peculiarities of work, studying of successful experience in communications with different targeted audiences with the help of different means and platforms.
In the frames of the section of the visit dedicated to staff issues, the participants studied the structure of the European Parliament, categories and functional groups of employees, principles of recruitment of officials and assessment of their work, etc.
The visit took place on the recommendation of the Needs Assessment Mission of the European Parliament headed by Pat Cox, which is currently finalizing the elaboration of respective report the roadmap on the institutional reform of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
