The draft law No. 2144a proposes to introduce amendments to the Law "On citizens' participation in the protection of public order and state border" aimed at solving the problems arising in practice when applying the said Law during the creation and organization of activities of public organizations in charge of the protection of public order, and the state border.
The draft law foresees for providing the opportunity to form public organizations in the populated settlements within controlled near-border districts with the floor composition of from 5 (five) persons; to expand the range of bodies eligible to apply for prohibition of activities of a public organization in case it violates current legislation; to enlarge possibilities of law enforcement bodies and units of the State Border Service regarding stimulation and awarding the most active citizens of Ukraine - participants of the public organizations.
Committee members supported the draft law, as its adoption will enable to create in a sparsely populated areas public organizations and carry out more proper selection of candidates to them and to increase efficiency of the use of bigger number of members of the public organization, by expanding the range of persons allowed to give specific instructions to the members of the public organization.
