Today at the Committee meeting, Chairperson of the Committee Hryhorii Nemyria reported on the approval by the Parliament of the Resolution on holding in February of parliamentary hearing on ensuring rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons.
"This is a very good news. We will be able to systematically rather than sporadically examine this issue. This requires consolidation of efforts of the Committee from the viewpoint of executing functions of parliamentary control and from the viewpoint of prioritization for filling legislative gaps in this area. I hope that the hearing will be effective," he said.
Moreover, Hryhorii Nemyria said that this week in the Verkhovna Rada registered was a draft law on guarantees to freedom of peaceful assembly No.3587, elaborated by the majority of the Committee members.
Also at the meeting the Committee members recommended that the Parliament adopt in the second reading the draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On refugees and persons in need of complementary or temporary protection" concerning the perfecting of the procedure of their registration No.3155 in the wording proposed by the Committee for the second reading.
In turn, Ombudsman's representative Bohdan Kryvlenko also said that this situation is unacceptable and called on the Ministry of Justice to immediately provide the text for familiarization.
It was decided to send a letter on behalf of the Chairperson of the Committee to the Minister of Justice with a demand to even today pass the text to the Committee members for familiarization.
The Committee members formed a working group to draft amendments to the Law "On Personal Data Protection" and a working group to elaborate comprehensive amendments to the legislation on ensuring of equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
Also at the meeting presented was a package of legislative initiatives drafted by the Odesa Regional State Administration in cooperation with international and public organizations.
It was decided to continue cooperation of the Committee with the Odesa Regional State Administration in the elaboration of reforms.
